Grant Info - 2009 Call For Proposals
The Hawcreek - Flat Rock Area Endowment is pleased to announce the availability of $5,000 in grant dollars for 2009. Since its inception in 2002, the HFR Endowment has awarded over $23,000 in grant funds to local groups and organizations.
For 2009, the Advisory Board will consider grant proposals that fit the following criteria:
- Funds to be used for projects or programs in the Hawcreek Flat Rock area exclusively.
- Only grant requests from not-for-profit organizations or those that demonstrate a charitable purpose will be considered.
- Projects or programs that address the needs of a significant number of community residents.
Please include the answers to the following questions in the grant request:
- Name of the organization?
- Contact person?
- Mission?
- Describe the project or program?
- What problem/need will be addressed?
- Who will be served?
- When will the project take place?
- How much will it cost?
- Amount of funding requested?
When considering a grant submission, please make note of the following. Grant proposals as stated below will not be considered for funding:
- Projects already in progress
- Individual class field trips
- Individual sports team uniforms or equipment
Grant requests for individuals are not eligible for funding.
*Applications must be postmarked by Monday, April 13, 2009*

All Grant recipients will be required to complete a grant report upon completion of the project or program. All grant requests will be reviewed by a committee led by the Grants Chair and made up of community members. Size and number of grants awarded will be dependent upon the quality of grant proposals received. After reviewing the submitted grant proposals, the Grant Review Committee reserves the right to decline funding any or even all of the proposals.
Grant recipients will be notified by May 25, 2009.
Awards will be available for payment after June 1, 2009.
